Perhaps it always has been, we just didn't notice it when Central Override didn't particularly affect us.

We do now. We will in spades when they have driven our farmers off the land in favour of who knows which corporate behemoths - we cannot eat AI, whether carbon-neutral or not.

Would we rather have food locally grown, or solar farms on repurposed farmland that require us to import our food from wherever it might be available? Will that emit more or less CO₂ than emitted by shipping our food from around the world?

2. They are played by a number of clones / substitute actors who are beholden to different controllers through blackmail and/or bribery
