Lies, Damned Lies, and Financial Statistics
2025-07-11
Today's financial options are more profuse and confusing than ever.
So how to navigate these treacherous waters to best effect?
We don't know, but Bill Bonner has been observing financial markets for his living for seemingly for ever.
He doesn't know either.
But he does draw some entertainment, along with pithy observations, from casting his beady eye over the current state of financial affairs, so we are sure to learn something useful.
"... "almost all the current initiatives of the US government are anti-real growth"
As always, never invest in what you don't understand, and "this is not financial advice".
So how is your mattress looking

If You Thought Ordinary Medicine Bad ...
2025-07-10
The modern world seems to revolve around psy-ops of all kinds - so do we think that psychiatry is any different?
"... a decade of psychiatric treatment—beginning at age 13—highlighting... a system that medicalizes distress, pathologizes adolescence, and discourages critical inquiry"
"What began as therapy sessions soon escalated into psychiatric evaluations, a cascade of diagnoses, and countless prescriptions of psychiatric drugs"

The Seven Cardinal Sins of the Western World
2025-07-10
We in the UK are not alone in facing a government that plainly doesn't work for us.
It's an Anglosphere problem at heart, but it affects a number of countries (such as former colonies, including the EU!) that although nominally independent, turn out to mysteriously suffer from the very same issues.
Sascha A. Roßmüller elucidates.
Is the UK at the heart of this darkness?

National Homicide Service?
2025-07-10
Our National Health Service (or "National treasure" for those who have been asleep for the last 77 years) is the pride and joy of government in this country - medical treatment free at the point of use for all who need it!
What's not to like?
Well, where should I begin?
It's paid for by taxing us. And as the benefit is assumed to be so enormous, taxes to support it are correspondingly enormous. And being taxes, we don't get to choose whether we want to pay.
And being the offspring of Big Government and Big Pharma, whilst the costs are socialised the profits are privatised.
It's not as if we can choose our preferred path back to health - only drugs (ie: poisons) offered by Big Pharma can be approved for sale on the NHS, if you want anything else it's verboten. The magic word here is "protocol". Doctors are no longer educated in healthy living and natural medicine,

Net Zero On Schedule?
2025-07-08
No, not carbon dioxide, population growth.
Fertility rates are suddenly declining across Europe (and no doubt elsewhere) but surprisingly, the only thing that authorities seem able to agree on is that it has nothing to do with the quaxxines.
Odd that.
Especially since there does seem to be correlation between jabs and infertility. We all know that "correlation is not causation" - but hold on - it might be, it's just that correlation alone is insufficient to determine causation - it certainly doesn't rule it out!
Tomas Fürst investigates for Brownstone.

The EU (and UK) Suicide Pact
2025-07-08
Eugippius reminds us that one of primary benefits of the EU is that the unelected Commission gets to impose its will on member states.
And one of its wills is the energy transition, which will on no account be delayed.
And if that means the lights going out, then so be it. After all, minor inconveniences such as darkness and cold are obviously acceptable in order to "save the planet".
It's tempting to have a misguided chuckle at their expense, since we voted ourselves out of the EU almost 20 years ago. However, it turns out that we have the equivalent of the EU Commission in our own UK Parliament, now "independent" and, in likely denial of the electorate's wishes (they didn't ask us), hell-bent on supporting Ed Millibrain's dash for our very own legally mandated Net Zero by 2030.
(BTW: it being legally mandated, will our Ed be the one sent to prison when the much heralded and dubiously promised Net Zero

An AI for Our Time?
2025-07-07
If you have been following this site for a little while you may have noticed that we don't confine ourselves to any particular theme or subject-matter - our purpose (however well or badly achieved) is simply to challenge our readers to 'think outside the box".
Basically I roam wherever my fancy takes me, or wherever the tram-lines of mainstream media need to be challenged. I try not to present conclusions - reaching conclusions, possibly even just recognising possible conclusions, is your task.
Conjuring with concepts is a favoured ploy - can we align outwardly different concepts alongside each other to identify previously unrecognised linkage?
With what new insights might we terrify ourselves?!
Perhaps unexpectedly, AI can be a engine which does precisely that. But can AI, that robustly logical machine, really conjure unexpected insights from its 100% logical workings?
A Speech for Our Time?

Polycrisis incoming? Fulford Report 7 July 2025
2025-07-07
Apparently the world is becoming less susceptible to the narratives of fear that once kept us all docile and obedient. So we need an Event X mega-event that will send us all scuttling back into our box.
Personally I was looking forward to the "fake alien invasion" that we were promised, but it seems that other plans may be afoot - we will just have to wait and see (although the flooding in Texas that cost so many lives in recent days may have set the tone).
Keep calm and carry on. (Modest subscription required for full access)

Depressed? You Will Be
2025-07-05

And the Big Beautiful Bill is making money look plentiful right now, for some.
But who will benefit, and who will be called on to foot the bill?

Zhong Zhi Group Has Collapsed
2025-07-04
Who?
Zhong Zhi (pronounced 'jong je'), a Chinese financial giant "with assets exceeding Evergrande by 1.14 trillion yuan" has collapsed, leaving their many private investors without the income they were expecting from their investments.
It being China, Zhong Zhi will inevitably have close ties to the government, raising serious questions about how it was regulated and how the collapse was permitted to happen.
"How did I go from buying a financial product to becoming a participant in illegal fundraising?"
Are the Chinese now moving on from "search for the guilty" to "punishment of the innocent", before wrapping it up with "praise and honour for the non-participants"?
Meanwhile many thousands of investors have lost their dosh.

"We're Out of Ammo!"
2025-07-03
Well, that's more or less it.
The good old US of A has too many theatres of military operation to support, given the global geopolitical situation. It can't build and supply the necessary military ordnance for its military to prevail beyond a very short period, given that it has too many proxies to support and a Chinese situation looming over Taiwan.
Russia on the other hand has not neglected its supply chains, and China likely isn't over-extended, given that it doesn't have any conflicts in progress.
"The Russians have rethought the whole approach..."
Likewise Iran seems over many years to have amassed sufficient supplies of technologically superior weapons ready for a long war with Israel, should that be required.
So is the USA drawing in its horns of sheer necessity? And if so, how does that affect the prospects for global peace?

Spyware? Or Fearware?
2025-07-03
Of course, wearables are to help keep us safe.
These will allow us to monitor and obsess about our blood pressure, heart rate, breaths per minute, steps taken and so on - all the stuff that we should be taking for granted whilst we get on with life; but of course we shouldn't be doing that at all, we should be moping around desperately trying to keep all those vital medical indicators within the prescribed bounds.
So which nut-job is trying it on this time?
Couldn't happen here? I'd give it six months...

Geddes Method for Identification of Fake Courts
2025-07-02
"I just wanted to share with readers how I am using AI for... a parallel FoI request for the slightly different ghost court name used at an earlier point in the prosecution"
If the "Court" which has summoned you has no legal standing, then its activities are unconstitutional and invalid, of no legal effect.
Is the whole system of UK justice actually fake? Without authority? Bogus?
He dubs his proposal "Legal antimatter for constitutional repair" utilising
"From £100 fine to £250,000 problem: the 'Absolute Zero Protocol'"
