The situation vis a vis Israel, America, and Iran has been a long time in the brewing, before even the foundation of Israel, and all the way back to the British Empire and (allegedly) their installed puppet ruler the Shah of Iran. Well before my time in fact.

Here Prof Marandi presents his view from Iran on the current US administration's efforts to "bring peace to the Middle East".

As the EU desperately beats it's war drums apparently heedless of its dire ability to sustain any such conflict with Russia, we are clearly observing the inflation of rhetoric over reality. Still, since when was a grasp of reality ever a prerequisite for taking a position of power and responsibility in the EU?

But I digress. The one permanent feature of our western monetary systems since ... well, seemingly forever ... has been the steady (sometimes indeed distinctly unsteady) erosion of the purchasing power of our money. Back in 19xx when we bought our first house, we paid around £11K - good luck buying an equivalent house for that money today - perhaps at 20 times that figure one might begin to stand a chance.

So today we feature a piece about the sources of inflation, some historical background,  and the consequent debasement of the currency - and yes, it can happen even if that currency is gold / silver coinage!

The Donald has a fight on his hands.

His oft repeated desire to close down the federal Department of Education, that same department presumably that is responsible for brainwashing American kids in all matter "woke", especially gender dysphoria and transgender.

Many believe that the same has been happening in the UK. and are not happy about it, and believe that what happens in the US may set the template for what ultimately happens here. This is therefore not a uniquely American problem.

" ... politics today turn on who or what is in charge of the administrative state. No one knows the answer and this is for a reason. The main functioning of the modern state falls to a beast that does not exist in the Constitution."

So far has the "modern state" been subverted away from the constitutional intention.

"The new awareness is that neither the people nor their elected representatives are really in charge of the regime under which we live"

Sounds familiar somehow.

It may be that Il Donaldo is going to have to take this through the courts, and inevitably all the way to the Supreme Court.

But to the Supreme Court of what exactly?
