  • All You Never Wanted to Know about Glyphosate

    2025-07-14

I've been banging on about Glyphosate since before this site was born, but despite well-publicised court verdicts of past years, the local stores are still flogging it and councils around the country are still spraying it.

You may know it as a constituent of "Round Up", alongside other active ingredients.

Because of its ubiquitous use in farming (especially on grains such as wheat), it is almost impossible to avoid, even by buying organic (although that should hopefully reduce our exposure).

  • The Plan for Nuclear War?

    2025-07-14

David Sorensen of Stop World Control has been creating well-produced articles for some time now, and this is his latest.

Whether or not he is on the right track may as yet be unclear, but his work does command attention.

For my part I can't say that I have a clear view, other than that major elements of his presentation, whilst plausible, are as yet not substantiated and the jury still awaits the necessary evidence. More water needs to flow under the bridge.

But what do I know? It's what you believe that counts.

  • Real Scientists Agree - The Climate Emergency Is ****

    2025-07-11

I suppose that the best candidate for "****" is "unproven".

In which case we are seriously abusing our children by indoctrinating them in unproven but terrifying climate dogma in our schools.

Lots of climate models (funded by all the usual suspects) do not add up to a body of science. Even if some are right, they are not proof of anything other than man's ability to delude itself by admiring it's own efforts.

Complex they may be and undoubtedly are, but a mastery of complexity does not of itself indicate "science", just as assertions by politicians do not necessarily indicate reliability of outcome. Professor Ferguson's Covid models should have dispelled that myth back in 2020.

    2025-07-10

The modern world seems to revolve around psy-ops of all kinds - so do we think that psychiatry is any different?

"... a decade of psychiatric treatment—beginning at age 13—highlighting... a system that medicalizes distress, pathologizes adolescence, and discourages critical inquiry"

"What began as therapy sessions soon escalated into psychiatric evaluations, a cascade of diagnoses, and countless prescriptions of psychiatric drugs"

  • An AI for Our Time?

    2025-07-07

If you have been following this site for a little while you may have noticed that we don't confine ourselves to any particular theme or subject-matter - our purpose (however well or badly achieved) is simply to challenge our readers to 'think outside the box".

Basically I roam wherever my fancy takes me, or wherever the tram-lines of mainstream media need to be challenged. I try not to present conclusions - reaching conclusions, possibly even just recognising possible conclusions, is your task.

Conjuring with concepts is a favoured ploy - can we align outwardly different concepts alongside each other to identify previously unrecognised linkage?

With what new insights might we terrify ourselves?!

Perhaps unexpectedly, AI can be a engine which does precisely that. But can AI, that robustly logical machine, really conjure unexpected insights from its 100% logical workings?

    Depressed? You Will Be

To get on, you have to play the new games.

Sitting back and not participating doesn't cut it.

James Altucher makes the point well, even if he does take a whole article to do so.

But then, that's what life is about isn't it? Weaving a narrative (ideally a plausible one), and spinning it to the right people.

He does it better than I, so over to him.

  • News of NATO - Will Flim-Flam Work This Time?

    2025-06-24

Sebastian Sas isn't your average YouTube interviewer - "formal dialogue" isn't his style, he prefers a good rant to point up all the inconsistencies in those who imagine themselves to be our leaders and betters.

One definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing whilst expecting a different result. If NATO knew what they were doing, the war would be over by now - but it isn't, so "something must be done".

To set the scene, NATO has no means to shoot down Russia's latest missile, so they have an innovative solution... will it work?

  • Might Continued Use of AI Provoke Insanity?

    2025-06-15

AI is simply a label that may mean many things to many people.

Some, such as Mark Playne of NOT ON THE BEEB, and Martin Geddes of Future of Communications, have learned that to get their AI to function responsively to their needs, they may have to train it.

Others less critical will use AI as is and believe all it tells them - they may find illusion or disappointment, depending on how their AI was trained by its developers. There is nothing to say that the training materials used were well-founded, coherently respectful of truth, and appropriate to all the usage to which the AI could eventually be put.

For my own part I suspect that where the subject matter is straightforwardly factual (such as the Statute Book) AI is likely to be accurate in quoting it, but where value judgements are concerned

  • The Old is Collapsing, a Brave New World will be Brought Forth

    2025-06-15

"It feels like you demand change, but don’t want to go through the process of change. Like you want to wake up one day, to see the world has changed"

Cyntha Koeter, of Fall of the Cabal Fame, places our current situation in a quite startling but challenging perspective.

As a mere male I am not qualified to comment on her observations, other than to suggest that the comparison she invokes may be appropriate.

Whilst the ladies may simply marshall their innate forces, we men should perhaps learn to channel our inner feminine...
