Good news can provide information, opportunities, warnings, examples of how not to do it, factoids of interest to loved ones, and much else besides.

Many people however feel that sometimes the news is little more than the propaganda that many outfits would like us to believe.

Disinformation, misinformation, lies, damned lies and statistics, and dubious computer modelling results abound.

But don't despair, help is at hand! The BBC (no less - they know all about propaganda so are best placed to assist) has founded the Trusted News Initiative, fortuitously in July 2019, just in time to ensure that the Covid misinformation that might have swamped the media was appropriately dealt with.

Never mind the gas/electricity bills (distracting as they are) - take note of these Parliamentary Bills, in the pipeline.

These are in addition to other highly dubious Bills already signed into law, such as the UK - Covert Human Intelligence Sources (Criminal Conduct) Bill 2019-21.

None of them enhance our freedoms, all of them compromise them.

We are under progressive attack by "our own" government.

Following on from Ukraine - How Did We Get Here? where Prof John Mearsheimer presented his academic analysis, here is a young german reporter doing her job from the Donbass in the aftermath of commencement of the initial Russian "special operation".

For her pains she was de-Paypalled, de-YouTubed and had her bank account plundered.

Now reportedly she has been convicted of an (unspecified?) crime without any opportunity to defend herself in court, and faces years in prison should she return to Germany.

This is centralisation on steroids. It's a complete take-over by central government.

This is shaping up to be a bureaucratic and legal nightmare that could easily result in more children being removed from their parents.

Children will no longer be the responsibility of their parents unless those parents do as they are told, which is the "freedom" only to comply. It doesn't matter whether the rules will be interpreted benignly or beneficially, because the rules will be in place

We have noted the deficiencies of the Online Safety Bill previously.

Many now consider themselves homeless when faced with the current choice of political parties, and think it might be best to somehow do away with them altogether.

Nevertheless it is heartening to hear about the occasional instance where the apparently iron grip of party group-think is challenged from an unexpected quarter, and it does beg the question "why him?". 

Anyway, idle speculation aside, on with the show!

Further to our previous report on this Bill, the Together Association has has been able to get barrister Francis Hoar to draft and submit written evidence to the House of Commons Committee on the Online Safety Bill.

His evidence is forensic, a model of clarity of thought and exposition, and damning.

American history is littered with events large and small including political assassinations (JFK being the most notorious), Unidentified Flying Objects (or Unexplained Aerial Phenomena as we must now call them), unexplained crashed phenomena (AKA Roswell), alleged false flag events (most notoriously 9/11), and much else that defies agreed explanation. 

That's a pretty broad spectrum of alleged phenomena, linked only by the inability of the various concerned parties to agree on their true nature.
