  • Glyphosate - Reminder

    2022-04-10

It's been a while since we published an articles on glyphosate, but that isn't because this herbicide has gone away.

Glyphosate has been removed from domestic Roundup, but that of itself doesn't necessarily imply that this domestic product is now safe. The fact that the manufacturer is continuing to use glyphosate in its agricultural products, despite losing lawsuits that allege harm from glyphosate exposure, may be taken by some to indicate that the company puts its profits before health issues; that in turn would not imply that the non-glyphosate version of Roundup has been meticulously reformulated with safety as a priority.

Indeed the company has "said the removal of glyphosate from these products is 'exclusively to manage litigation risk and not because of any safety concerns' ”.

  • UK Declares Disengagement from Russia

    2022-04-10

The Friday UK Column report notes a number of interesting points, primarily Liz Truss renouncing any engagement with Russia at the same time as President Zelenskyy more or less offers Russia most of what they said they want in their negotiations over the future of the Ukraine.

Is it not now time to get behind the negotiations to restore peace?

And is the ICC investigation into "Russian war crimes" going to take precedence over the long-standing complaint against the British Government for the alleged criminal handling of the Covid situation in the UK?

And of course whilst the main highlights are from the Ukraine situation, they offer the usual selection of stories from around the world and the UK.

  • Absolutely Nothing in this Report will be Believed

    2022-04-09

This is an extraordinary presentation by an extraordinary person.

She has (according to her presentation) been laid low with cancer several times and managed to recover before her surgeons came to operate.

That alone must qualify her for an audience.

I can't say whether she is right, but I do think that there is something to the fact that the human race has survived for millenia before the pharmaceutical companies were set up.

    What do you think?

  • "Absolutely Nothing in this IPCC Report is True"

    2022-04-09

Like a scratched record (sorry millenials, before your time) the UN's IPCC keeps replaying the scares of the past with ever increasing desperation.

It won't change the truth, and the truth will out.

    CO2 is not the enemy.

No CO2 = no plants, no plants = no food.

More CO2 = more crops, more food to feed the world's hungry.

We don't need GMO, we need CO2!

Water is a bigger greenhouse gas than CO2. How about we get rid of all the water?

Anyway, in case the truth of this still escapes you, the Daily Exposé reviews the latest nonsense from the IPCC.

    Well, yes and no.

First Milestone of 4G Rollout on London Underground Completes

    5G-ready?

What is 5G anyway? It's a broad-brush term that covers a multitude of sins, including many frequency bands that lie broadly within the same range as 4G, which is what is being rolled out here.

So why 4G and not 5G? No idea, but maybe it has something to do with the potential customer-base - there are still a great many more 4G enabled phones than there are 5G I'd be willing to aver.

And I suspect that the 5G you are likely to find on the underground in the near future is likely to be at the

  • Crypto - Stand by for Take-Off - or Rake-Off?

    2022-04-09

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help" was I believe identified by Ronald Reagan as a proposition that most of us might feel somewhat leery about.

Still, there seem to be very few areas of modern life that the government doesn't wish to assist us with, and crypto currencies which have hitherto managed to seem too distracted to be of interest are now deemed sufficiently significant to merit the Treasury's attention.

Naturally, since the main attraction of a crypto-currency is precisely that it is perceived to operate outside and independently of the purview of officialdom, the government proposes to rectify this attraction by launching an official stablecoin, that, being pegged in value to the official fiat currency, will permit government-controlled "stability and high regulatory standards" to benefit the UK financial markets (ie: you can buy and sell them through the regulated official intermediaries with all that that implies).

  • Ukraine's Army is in Russia's Garbage Can?

    2022-04-08

Mopping up is allegedly all that is left for the Russians to complete.

The Daily Exposé hosts Larry C Johnson, who makes a compelling case.

"When a 24 mile (or 40 mile, depends on the news source) was positioned north of Kiev for more than a week, it was clear that Ukraine’s ability to launch significant military operations had been eliminated. If their artillery was intact, then that column was easy pickings for massive destruction"

"The Ukrainians did not even mount a significant infantry ambush of the column with their newly supplied U.S. Javelins"

Can't really argue with that analysis.

  • Rwanda - Transit Point in the Channel?

    2022-04-08

Of course, what could possibly go wrong?

Priti Patel surely cannot win this one.

Fly the illegal channel migrants to Rwanda for processing (out of sight, out of mind?), wait for the media to highlight the appalling conditions in which they are held, then fly them back again? And if their asylum claims are rejected, where will they be released?

And how much would all this cost?

Nigel Farage doesn't think she can either. Not for the first time, he hits the nail on the head.

Our politicians can wriggle and squirm all they like but they only confirm just how out of touch with reality and the popular mood they really are.

You are recommended to read Down the Rabbit Hole 1 - 4 if you have not already.

    Has Ben lost his marbles?

Can we dismiss what he says as nonsense? On what grounds?

This week Fulford on Friday puts the current world travails into some historical context, with some entirely logical conclusions.

I confess I hadn't quite taken it to the extreme that he comes up with, but it seems all of a piece with what is going on.

Every schoolboy dreams of space travel (at least they did in my day).

But ever since Dan Dare defied the Mekon (was he the first to object to a green future?) our progress into space has been limited to the moon, and even that meagre achievement is disputed by many.

So to redress the balance the Black Vault has published a document archive (this may take a while to load!), a trove of results from Freedom of Information Requests, which hint at capabilities that Dan Dare could only dream of, but with which Donald Trump's Space Force is maybe more familiar?

  • Is EU Defence Fit for Purpose?

    2022-04-07

I have always advocated that the UK should leave the EU, and a major factor in that stance concerned our ability to defend ourselves without needing to rely on others whose strategic imperatives might not coincide with ours.

Add in the lack of transparency in matters of EU governance and the inherently bureaucratic nature of the decision-making, and I was clear in my own mind that the smallest competent group of British officers (including military, political, and expert) should be in the driving seat of our defence.

In passing I note that both UK and EU pronouncements on the Ukraine situation seem to be very long on stoking the inflammatory rhetoric and very short on trying to calm the situation with a view to promoting a negotiated settlement, so one does wonder whether our establishment really has withdrawn from EU defence thinking. In this critical area I do not subscribe to the view that our stance is in line with the thinking of the population.
