As he is more well-thought out than me, I will let him explain the whys and wherefores. Whilst I broadly concur with the spirit of his remarks, I have simply not performed the necessary analysis to comment further.
But ask yourself - who owns the Union Jack? Or the Cross of St George? or even the flag of (say) Hampshire?
And do we know what those owners stand for?
If we cannot even agree the answers to these simple questions, we could easily be understood to be showing support for notions that we find repugnant ... listing such I leave as an exercise for my readers.
