Is it possible for the world to be secretly under martial law and never know a thing about it?
Most of us would say no, I'm sure. There would be soldiers in the streets and it would be "Papers Please!" everywhere wouldn't it?
Or would it?
After all, few countries in the world have anywhere near enough troops to do anything like that, and the push-back from the public would be unmanageable. It would only need to fail in one country and others would be following suit - nobody wants authoritarian government except the authoritarians.
So what are the would-be authoritarians to do?
We know from recent Covid experience that they happily resort to propaganda, "nudge units" and similar fear-based tactics to persuade us to imprison ourselves and snitch on our non-compliant neighbours. We see the latter snitch-drive currently as water companies are caught with dwindling supplies, ongoing leakage that they never bothered to fix in the good times (well, water companies don't pay for the water that falls from the sky so what's to gain from conserving it?), and politicians are anxious to deflect the blame onto the public.
In short, they mount a narrative that skirts around the truth and directs our attention (and the blame) anywhere but where it belongs.
So if "they" wanted to put us all under martial law to implement the Great Reset, are they likely to tell us, or would they spin the narratives to persuade us that we need to act exactly as they want us to?
