Do you think in English?

If so, this may be for you, for English has been subjected to an upgrade, much as predicted by one Eric Blair, and although the upgrade didn't necessarily use the precise vocabulary envisaged by the writer (and upgrade might be a misnomer) the parallels are there.

"Are you still using Oldspeak terms like 'freedom?' If so, it’s time to update your vocabulary, abandoning useless words that clutter your brain. Master Newspeak, and you’ll never have to think again"

The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love and justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement

"Hope not hate" (remember, in Newspeak everything works backwards) is a totemic little phrase.

"To magnify those emotions, Newspeak bypasses reason" thus pre-empting the application of logical thought by evoking those attention-demanding demons from our emotional depths. Another Blair demonstrated his mastery of this technique in relatively recent years; it has become the essential stock-in-trade of our politicians.

Furthermore, modern Newspeak neatly bypasses the need for positive imaginative thinking by never acknowledging the possibility of any thinking outside of the Party box. Thus all reports and organisations must be anti-something-or-other, promoting the idea that if only what-ever-it-is can be destroyed all will be well under the Party's all-knowing rule. Thus it becomes entirely pointless to imagine any alternatives to the Party view on what-ever-it-is.

Think you know all this? Hmmm ...

The AIER has the story.

The reader may care at this point to consider the recent travails of our benighted world against the ideas herein presented - please don't forget to imagine and execute an appropriate positive response.
