Genesis 1;3
3And God said, "Let there be light": and there was light.
4And God saw the light, and it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness
As winter beckons and we look forward to shorter days and darker evenings, perhaps we should also consider the quality of the artificial light that we will be inflicting upon ourselves.
And (surprise!) it is not good. It certainly wouldn't pass muster with the God of Genesis.
How is it deficient?
Mark well, for our health depends upon it to a far greater degree than we probably imagine.
Especially if (as very many do) we are wearing eye-wear ... and sitting behind glass all day long ... and that's before we consider how long we spend squinting at the screens on our gadgets.
And then getting our daily dose of propaganda from watching the TV.
But there is good news too - there is much that we can still do about it!
So listen up!
And if so inclined, deep dive.
But don't neglect the quality of our eyesight itself - good light is all well and good, but our eyesight is affected by more than the light that enters the eyes.
"The [ailing] eye travels through a sequence of procedures each of which answers the symptom of the previous one. The ophthalmologist is paid at each step. The patient’s eye reaches old age having been operated on three or four times, each operation producing new conditions the next operation will address"
Then don't neglect to act upon it. It's never too late to start ...
