ZeroHedge reports on Trumps latest moves to pressure Iran - to "make the deal" "they know what we want". The news is full of reports that airlines are cancelling flights to the area and a carrier battlegroup is en route to ensure compliance.

But what does Trump actually want? He has already "obliterated" the Iranian nuclear enrichment programme, so it can't be that. And there seems a good chance that a single Iranian missile strike might be enough to deal with an aircraft carrier ...   and allegedly they have plenty of missiles left.

So is this posturing for real or is something else afoot?

For a president who was elected to stop wars, is he intent on becoming unelectable?

Or is the whole shenanigan just a huge distraction to keep us looking away from what is really going on?
