I think David is right that if the US is going to join forces with the EU then NATO is dead, long live Defence Union.
On the other hand I can't see the US wanting to play second fiddle in the command structure, so Defence Union will be a different beast. How different?
Well, who will be the next US President?
If Biden scrapes in then Defence Union will be the Globalist Defence Union, bending recalcitrant states to the Globalist agendas.
If Trump survives then either the US will not involve itself (but why would he pass up the chance to control the EU armed forces alongside the US forces?) or the EU will fall apart and Defence Union will revert into NATO under a new name and with a new remit - to defend the independence of the democratic nation states of the world.
That's my assessment anyway - what do you think?
