As hoaxes go, the "runaway climate" hoax was nearly perfect, being such a complex topic that nobody can conclusively prove or disprove it - until one realises that none of their catastrophic predictions have come true. New York is not under water, polar bears roam in abundant numbers, the ice caps are still resolutely in place ...
And that's before we also realise that it's mostly the paid "scientists" of the IPCC who were pushing this stuff - any number of independent scientists (Prof William Happer comes instantly to mind) have been debunking this nonsense for ever.
And before we realise that CO2 is a truly tiny fraction of the atmosphere that couldn't possibly be responsible for global climate change (unless there simply isn't enough of it - which is actually in geological terms quite close to being the case - more CO2 is required for a greener world).
And before we realise that the flatulence of cattle is far less of a threat than the flatulence of uncritical thinking based on simply believing everything one reads in the newspapers (or learns in schools!).
