Instead we have an additional announcement under "Breaking News: "The Gaza and Ukraine wars are to be ended immediately"

Who is Trump? What is he? For whom does he work? 

What are the military and secret services up to now?

The natives are growing restless - and the Czech Republic has elected a dreadful populist ...

and of course basket case France has lost another Prime Minister ..

"Ofcom has quietly transformed from a communications regulator into the most powerful censor in UK history"

Apparently it is having a "Year of Action"  and is proposing “Additional Safety Measures” no doubt to keep us all safe and (more importantly?) unruffled.

"Our regulatory approach must be dynamic" (Quite so - the Act was last updated only in July 2025).

Now nobody will ever be sure exactly where they stand.

What could possibly go wrong?

Andrej Babis Wins Czech Elections - EU Concerned

The EU already has recalcitrant Hungary and Slovakia on its hands, so news that another dreadful populist has won a national election (isn't that what elections are for?!), in the Czech Republic, has them scrambling.

Some might unkindly suggest that their thinking is scrambled already, but in that case another election may not make all that much difference.

EU Wants "Endless War" with Russia?

According to Victor Orban, the EU is now pushing for a war footing against Russia. Hungary under Mr Orban is concerned that

"Europe is signing on to a climate of "endless war"..."

Mr Orban would like the EU to negotiate a long term Security Agreement with Russia, since war is not in their interests.

How sensible, how quaint, and how impossible for the EU leadership to contemplate.
