David Starkey has been featured several times on this site, mostly in terms of his excellent knowledge of the history of England and the development of its governance over the centuries.

Rupert Lowe, elected as a Reform MP at the 2024 general election, has set up a political  movement ("not a political party" - we are grateful for small mercies!) for the restoration of the British political establishment to a more honest status of integrity with the checks and balances what we previously enjoyed before at least the era of Tony Blair, but probably earlier.

Appropriately, it is named "Restore Britain".

In David Starkey he probably has the primary pre-eminent expert on our constitutional development, who will (one hopes and believes) provide sound and well-informed historical constitutional advice.

This site does not do party politics. But we do do good honest government on behalf of the people. Such a government must have a leader of conviction and determination to defend our country's independence. Does any political party sport such a leader?

We face an upcoming Reform Party which looks to be a shoe-in for the next general election, led by a man who fought for our freedom from the EU.

Ideal candidate?

Some believe so, some think not, some are unsure.

The Bell Hotel - what hotel name could be more quintessentially English?

It should serenely survey a scene of bucolic peace and tranquillity.

But not on Thursday.

''Last night’s violence around the Bell Hotel in Epping Forest saw Metropolitan and British Transport police deployed alongside Essex constabulary"

Not one, not two, but three police forces in attendance? Was trouble expected?

" ... this violence has not appeared by chance. The most recent trigger was the arrest on July 8th of ... a 38 year-old man who’d arrived in the country ... via a small boat on June 29th, claimed asylum, and then been housed at the Bell Hotel"

At a time when governments of all stripes have been elected on promises to get immigration under control, but have continued to facilitate it, "maybe" it's high time to recognise that government is now rogue, and intends to respect neither the norms of democratic government nor the clearly expressed wishes of the population. 

It's time to put them in their place.
