NATO members UK France Poland and the Baltic states, and maybe also Turkey are all reportedly gearing up their forces ...

So the proposed ceasefire is working out well?  Actions speak louder than words, and Russia will not ignore such pre-ceasefire attacks.

"The Russians have already stated that they will never accept NATO troops on Ukrainian soil under any circumstances"

So talk of "peacekeepers" is just that - talk for reassurance of the home nations.

The only questions are how Russia will respond and whether their response will include de facto cancellation of said ceasefire as Zelensky's remaining troop formations are routed.  There would be no point in waiting for NATO to get their act together.

When the onward march of technology meets the onward march of intermittent wind and solar, what will be the result for our power bills? Or indeed, for our supply of power?

In two words, I suggest "not pretty".

But never mind, we will have MHHS to help, so that will be OK, right? And it will all be controlled by energy regulator OfGem ("We work to protect energy consumers, especially vulnerable people, by ensuring they are treated fairly and benefit from a cleaner, greener environment" -  remember that "benefit from" bit), so what could possibly go wrong?

The situation vis a vis Israel, America, and Iran has been a long time in the brewing, before even the foundation of Israel, and all the way back to the British Empire and (allegedly) their installed puppet ruler the Shah of Iran. Well before my time in fact.
