Brexit Watch has usefully summarised the state of UK (and world?!) governance today:

A sense of proportion please – the real questions facing the country

And they are not merely talking about Brexit, which after all was simply the prerequisite to repatriating our sovereignty and making our own way in the world, both internally and externally.

"The tragedy is not the party. The tragedy is the direction of our country"

"Let’s look at a few questions politicians and the media should really be focusing on. No doubt you will think of many others"

In other words, these are not just individual independent issues that need addressing individually (although they are), taken together they are symptomatic of a much bigger issue - the abandonment of logical thought in government in favour of the application of received dogma as promulgated by the (appointed) authorities, and devil take those who disagree.

We can see that this breakdown has occurred on multiple fronts:

Covid-19 and Lockdowns

Pubic Finances and Spending (not to mention Monetary Policy)

Energy Policy and the Environment

Brexit Dividend (or lack of the same)

Education, NHS, Public Sector

So where does all this lead if not to tyranny - to the application of control by a small dictatorial group that has no time for those who disagree with them?

Notably, the UK is not uniquely in this position - most of the western world is grappling with precisely this problem.

We can accept tyranny, or we can reject it before it becomes irreversible.

The ball is now in our court.
