Chris Morrison writing for the Daily Sceptic pulls the plug on the Climate Change hysteria with his latest piece about the "settled science".

"Historically, the claim of consensus is the first refuge of the scoundrel; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming the matter is already settled"

Of course the science is never settled.

"There are more things in Heaven and Earth Horatio than are dreamt of in your philosophy" - Hamlet.

Science is progressed by the mavericks that question (and take down and rebuild) "the science", not by the dullards who meekly concur with the "consensus" so beloved of their paymasters.

Albert Einstein seems to agree - "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them".

Not everyone would agree that Einstein's theories are the last word on the matter either - he himself accepted that they appeared to be inconsistent with quantum physics, leading to a long search for that elusive "theory of everything".

In fact, when you look closely, you realise that there is no defined point at which a theory officially becomes "the science" - it is a slow process of assimilation and acceptance - by use of the theory to good practical effect in the work of others - that the human race ultimately decides whether or not to adopt the theory as "the science", through a myriad of individual decisions.

No amount of portentous announcements by prestigious institutions tasked to uphold their version of the truth is going to alter that.
