I was always close to the bottom of the class in history whilst at school (and since I left school for that matter), so I find this historical discourse covers a great deal of ground that for me puts much of the last two hundred years of history into a meaningful perspective.

Not only that, it brings perspective to both the geopolitical options and the nationalist/globalist dichotomy that the worldfaces in the present day - highly recommended.

I must thank the US National Library of Medicine for a most interesting article (well, I found it so anyway) concerning the flu epidemics of the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Whilst it sheds no light whatsoever on the Covid pandemic of 2020, it highlights both the elusive nature of the causative factor behind the epidemics, and the general propensity to make assumptions about the cause and to try to make a fortune on the back of those assumptions!

Those days were very different from today:-

• There were neither national authorities nor prestigious medical institutes to set the standards by which vaccines should be developed and tested
  
• There were no "Big Pharma" companies that effectively monopolised the medical industry of the time
  
• There was no World Health Organisation

Now you and I and the rest of the normal world (not to mention almost all epidemiologists to date) have no doubt grown up with and accepted the concept of herd immunity - if enough people get exposure to a disease (either through catching it and recovering or through vaccination) then we become largely immune to it, and as more and more people achieve this happy immunity the pathogen has more and more trouble finding susceptible hosts to infect, so that the disease soon enough peters out.

So the recent report from the AIER comes as something of a surprise . . .

Does the WHO now somehow conclude that herd immunity can only be achieved through vaccination after all? This seems an extraordinary proposition that requires some explanation if we are to accept it.

Is the New Variant tactic just a retread of the old HIV-2 assertions reheated and rebranded for our new Covid lockdown insanity?

Are we facing a bid for Global Communism? Every day, as yet more evidence stacks up, it becomes harder to deny this.

As in America, so in the UK, and elsewhere.

If we think things are bad here, the clamp-down "down under" is lunatic by comparison (although Tier 4 Boris is doing his bit to catch up). So is this really a global coup, a coup that cannot ultimately succeed unless it first subdues America?

Or is it just a "conspiracy theory" to be dismissed out of hand? As always, make up your own mind.

The WHO are referencing the PCR Tests that are in widespread use across the globe.

"WHO has received user feedback on an elevated risk for false SARS-CoV-2 results when testing specimens using RT-PCR reagents on open systems"

"As the positivity rate for SARS-CoV-2 decreases, the positive predictive value also decreases" - in other words if the positivity rate decreases (ie: we need more cycles to amplify a smaller original signal) then the incidence of false positive results increases.

"Therefore, healthcare providers are encouraged to take into consideration testing results along with clinical signs and symptoms, confirmed status of any contacts, etc" - ie: don't rely on the PCR Test as your sole means of determining whether a person is infected.

So there you have it - the PCR test at high amplification cycles is unreliable as a diagnostic tool.

Brexit Watch makes a good point.

Interminable never-ending "negotiations" may end up effectively leaving us indefinitely  "in transition" (ie: BRINO) to all intents and purposes - how could this be?

It's up to Boris - if he permits this sleight of messaging then he will have only himself to blame for not cutting the negotiations off at the knees at 24:00 on 31st December.

After all, on 1st Jan, even if the EU wants to let current arrangements continue, we don't have to - we can pick and choose!

We can have no objection to negotiating after the 1st January, but Boris would be well advised to put some clear blue timing between ending pre-exit negotiations and starting post-exit negotiations, and should emphasize the different basis on which these are being undertaken (not to mention the immediate

Robin Tilbrook's BlogSpot for November 2020 asks some pertinent questions concerning what we can glean about our government's motivations from their activities since January 2020.

No doubt we all remember the original promise that it would just be for "3 weeks to flatten the curve and protect the NHS".

So how come Matt Hancock has just put London under Tier 3 (when London hospitals are not anywhere near being overwhelmed) and the mood music from the media is that lockdowns will continue until April and quite possibly beyond?

Robin Tilbrook, solicitor, Brexit activist and chairman of the English Democrat Party, interviewed by Mark Collett and Laura Towler, makes some very interesting points about the way that we are policed in the UK today.

After covering the usual point (made more entertainingly here!) about not answering police questions, the interview goes on to cover some of the ways that poiicing has changed in this country since the days of Sir Robert Peel, and how it may be best to behave in the event that you have to deal with the police in any situation that may turn adversarial.

There is a lot of information here (whatever you may think of the interviewers) and I learned quite a lot. Time well spent.
