It's been obvious for some time that this is no way to fight a war.

If you can't beat them, sue them - for peace. That should have been done long ago, and now Russia may be in no mood for negotiation because negotiation requires goodwill, and NATO has expended whatever it had in that regard as well as most other regards.

This is likely to be a fight to the finish unless NATO falls first (my viewpoint). If NATO falls, Ukraine will agree terms. Any terms.

"This offensive has no legitimate military objective - because you can't achieve it"

"You can't use the same formula that's already failed"

"What happens when they get annihilated?"

"NATO will never beat Russia"

"We don't have the military capacity to defeat Russia in a large-scale ground conflict in Europe"

"The scope and scale of the violence taking place ... between the Ukrainians and the Russians is beyond the imagination of NATO ... [NATO] don't have anything necessary to fight that conflict"

So where will this escalation end?
