The State of Britain Today - and Tomorrow
2025-03-25
This site does not do party politics.
However, we don't regard this video as an attack on the Labour Party, the main purposes of our visible government being:
(a) to obscure who is really in control of our nation and
(b) to take the blame when matters invariably turn out to the detriment of the nation and of our peoples.
That said, is the destruction of the traditional culture and landscape of the English Scots and Welsh peoples now under yet more attack?
And if you disagree, explain to me just when we voted for all this.

The View from Iran
2025-03-25
On whichever side of the fence we may sit, if we want to understand a situation then we do well to listen to both sides of the argument.
The situation vis a vis Israel, America, and Iran has been a long time in the brewing, before even the foundation of Israel, and all the way back to the British Empire and (allegedly) their installed puppet ruler the Shah of Iran. Well before my time in fact.
Here Prof Marandi presents his view from Iran on the current US administration's efforts to "bring peace to the Middle East".
It's your view that counts.

Here Be Dragons - Fulford Report Monday 24 Mar 2025
2025-03-24
As only Ben can, he sets out a scenario (or several) that place the ongoing machinations of the global "Great and the Good" within a context of extraordinary breadth and deep historical roots.
If we want to know what is really going on in our world, this report should be on our radar.

Europe in Turmoil - How Dare They!
2025-03-23
Trump and Putin having decided that Europe is an irrelevance to the Ukraine negotiations (as they have nothing - aside from posturing - to contribute), the Europeans have got together to determine what is to be done about it.

What's Up With Yemen?
2025-03-20
"The responsibility to protect" by humanitarian intervention to stop international crimes.
When "the West" does this it's Ok, but when the Yemenis do it it's a crime.
From the viewpoint of the average Brit, the truth of far flung complex situations can be difficult to reliably disentangle.
So this is an interesting presentation, highlighting a number of controversial points on all sides of the argument.

The Information Highway Less Travelled
2025-03-18
(To the tune of Loch Lomond)
By yon daily papers, and by yon TV channels,
Where the bright light of truth never ventures,
Where me and my true love were ever wont to view,
In our bonnie carefree youth of fond memory.Chorus:
Oh ye'll tak' the mainstream,
an' I'll tak' the low stream,
an' I'll see the truth long afore ye,
but me an' my true love ne'er watch entwined again,
for the narratives and lies now repel me.Yes there's more verses where that came from, but sufficient unto the day is the doggerel thereof!
We are at war, a war for our hearts and minds, driven not by

A Thought for Our Time
2025-03-17
Europa (in its modern incarnation as continental Europe) is in turmoil.
Fittingly perhaps, it is named after an ancient Greek goddess, but as the EU (shortly destined to collapse under the untenable weight of its contradictions) it is now, much like the capricious Greek Pantheon of old, apparently convinced of the need to wage war, this time to defend the perceived honour of the Ukraine to the last man, and if the Ukraine no longer has any men (or indeed in this day and age, women), then to the last European.
The unfortunate fact that they are in no position to take on the Russians militarily matters not a jot - the honour of fair Ukraine and the heroism of her benighted soldiers demands the ultimate sacrifice, possibly of the entire continent.
One may think what one likes about "the Donald" but it is obvious, if one takes a short moment to think about it,

"An Unshakeable Hundred-Year Partnership"
2025-03-14
"The Donald" wanted to make a deal for peace with the Ukraine, but did the UK get in first?
"The previous government described the Agreement on Security Co-operation, which gave long-term security guarantees to Ukraine, as “the first step in developing an unshakeable hundred-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom"
But what of the new treaty itself? What's it all about?
"A legally binding treaty, the text of which has been published but

How to Build Peace - Through Economic Joint Interests
2025-03-07
Scott Ritter explains the Trumpian path to peace.
If you rely on the military then you will get war or at least conflict.
If you rely on your economic interests in common, then neither party will even want war or conflict.
Co-operation trumps conflict every time.

The Stinking Malaise that is Parliament, the Civil Service, the Media
2025-03-06
Dominic Cummings isn't everybody's cup of tea, but he does have first-hand experience of that about which he writes, and isn't afraid to draw unfashionable conclusions where the evidence so leads.
"It’s ‘impossible’ to control our borders but we must fight over Ukraine’s borders"
"We must coverup the rape gangs ‘for community cohesion’ and to continue mass immigration but we will rally on TV to fight ‘the new Hitler’ thousands of miles away with forces that do not exist"
"We must transform the MoD and defence procurement because fake budgets and disastrous procurement are destroying our forces"
"The combination of the above policies with ‘Ukraine should join NATO’... mixes great weakness with provocation on exactly the wrong thing"
"they can write interesting things about military operations, drones and tanks etc, but they

The "Peace Plan" for Europe
2025-03-06
ZeroHedge reviews the embryonic Starmer Peace Plan that seems to have the support of European leaders.
As we have noted earlier, it's cannot be a "Peace Plan" if it includes features to which we know that President Putin will not agree. Such as western military "boots on the ground" in Ukraine.
Putin may, like all of us, harbour the occasional delusion, but he's not insane, nor is he prepared to simply throw away the fruits of his leadership so far.
Heigh ho, who cares about the details when there's a propaganda war to be fought for public opinion?

NATO -UK-Trump-Zelenski Scuttlebutt
2025-03-05
What is going on between the UK, EU, NATO, Ukraine, and the Trump-Putin relationship?
This is all pretty complicated and difficult to follow, but maybe we should bear in mind that it may not be totally without foundation - and the fact that it's hosted on Scott Ritter's channel lends it credence.

In Review of How We Came Here
2025-03-04
For those with short memories, and those who simply were not yet here, this article covers the salient historical points from the latter parts of the 20th Century onward, from the perspective of an American. Necessarily it leaves out a vast amount which may never be known.
Some may believe that the Trump phenomenon is the fight-back against the endemic corruption described, some fear that Trump is simply the latest in a long line of "controlled opposition". I can't help you with that one, we will have to see how matters play out.
"By their fruits shall you know them"
What is undeniable is the role that Israel has historically played in US politics, and quite likely in the politics of other nations including our own - after all, the State of Israel was originally promoted in the UK's Balfour declaration after WW1.

The Starmer-Macron "Peacekeeping" Force
2025-03-04
A force to keep the pressure on Russia, and to keep UK-EU military forces in the Ukraine.
And if Russia does agree a peace deal, to boost the Ukraine's defensive capabilities...
I commented yesterday on the logic of Starmer's position, but one salient point i missed:
Call me old-fashioned, but if Russia has waged a war since 2022 to keep Ukraine out of NATO and NATO out of Ukraine (as clearly stated by Vladimir Putin), then Russia will just reject these ideas out of hand as putting NATO into Ukraine under another name.
It simply won't fly. There will be no lasting ceasefire under these suggestions, and probably no

Starmer to Take us to War for a "Ukraine Peace Deal"?
2025-03-03
War requires ice-cold emotionless thinking, accurate and timely military intelligence, and an economy that can support the Forces' needs for munitions and military equipment as and when they need them. Oh, and of course they will need the Forces themselves, trained up and ready to go.
And where will we get the steadfast national leadership that could lead the nation through such a perilous venture?
Given the government's track record of sacrificing all of the above in pursuit of the ridiculous UN Green New Deal and the numerous fairy tales that that involves, the chances of this new "peace-keeping" venture holding back a vast well-prepared battle-hardened Russian army with copious supplies of state of the art armaments, look vanishingly small to me.I would go so far as to say that should Russia decide to call our bluff and brush us aside...

Next Up: Nuclear Disarmament?!
2025-03-02
Scott Ritter - give him an inch and he'll take a mile!
Peace in the Ukraine is only just beginning to be talked about, and here he is thinking about the real need to phase out mankind's ability to self-immolate through nuclear war.
Probably not a moment too soon if you ask me. The world needs people like Scott who not only have the foresight to identify a path forward, but also have the experience to assess the pitfalls and map out how best to do it. Sadly they are becoming thin on the ground, so the sooner the process can be mapped out, the better for all concerned.
