This guy does seem to be in the right ball-park, although I'm not sure that I would agree with everything he says.

A bit of a rant, but he covers a lot of ground. Complex problems are not going to go away just because the government has decided to "get tough", and if we are looking for the government (of whatever stripe) to solve the problems that were created by the government (of whatever stripe) we will wait a long time.

It will be up to us.

The situation in the Middle East is poised for war.

Israel has defied everyone by attacking Hamas within Iran, thereby publicly sending an unmistakeable signal that they intend to go to full war. Iran cannot fail to respond.

Israel is at odds with the ICC / ICJ over its war with the people of Gaza and continues to forfeit international support. Even the UK has shown signs of getting tired of supporting the unsupportable.

Anybody who believes that they know how events will unfold is almost certainly overly confident - no plan survives contact with the enemy, as Ukraine can testify.

I haven't seen this reported very widely, but it appears that Victor Orban may have displeased his would-be Masters of the EU in Brussels.

In consequence it seems that they are determined to push him into the arms of alternative suppliers, no matter the cost to the Ukraine in lost transit revenues.

So why does the EU evidently not want Mr Orban's efforts for a negotiated peace in the Ukraine?

The Peter Sellers film Dr Strangelove may be before many of our readers' time, but maybe we should dust it off and review its relevance to the current obsession of NATO in poking the Russia bear.

The only thing preventing the escalation of the existing proxy war in the Ukraine may be Russia's forethought in making sure that Russia at least has the men materiel and know-how to defend itself from a great number of provocations - but why does "the West" continue, slowly but relentlessly, to provoke?

Scott isn't noted for his restraint when discussing the fundamentals, and the fundamentals here are stark. He doesn't tip-toe around the issues here, nor should we.

America has a great deal to do before the world comes out on the other side of its current troubles, and I don't doubt that Scott will be kept busy telling his truth for some time yet.

Critical thinking skills have never been less adopted, and my guess is that they have never been more needed.

So what is critical thinking?

It is presumably the ability to distinguish the truth from the falsehoods and indeed outright lies that infest our modern media.

"Lies?" I hear you challenge? Surely the media doesn't lie to us?

Well, they can certainly be economical with the actualité...

Indeed, the more scrutiny one subjects an article to, the less complete it inevitably appears to be.

And what about the censorship? Such as the way that the BBC "forgot" to report the massive lockdown demonstrations numbering in the tens of thousands that took place right outside Broadcasting House... yes, I was there, and they didn't report it.

Following the assassination attempt on President Trump (or "the Donald" if you don't buy the term "President" just yet, even though Victor Orban certainly does) Ben Fulford's weekly report this Monday paints a picture of global struggle behind the scenes that nobody wants to admit to in public. From which we may deduce that these struggles are not yet settled.

Was the failed removal of Mr Trump a visible manifestation of these struggles spilling into the open? How could it not be?

The Russian International Affairs Council is not an institution that many of us in the UK are familiar with, but maybe we should be.
