Slightly incestuously perhaps, one journalist interviewing another. The trouble is that is they are both talking from a similar perspective, so it's a bit of an agreement-fest. Fortune and Freedom is an independent financial publication, but finance is now centre stage in our national life, because our modern society cannot function without banking services across the internet.

No banking service, no ability to manage your money. It really is that simple.

As individuals we could in theory pay cash for all our day to day purchases, but we all need a bank account for our incoming salary / pension / benefit payments, and a counter or ATM somewhere where we can withdraw that money as cash.

Therefore, banking provision is to all intents and purposes an essential public utility service, like water, power, and drainage, without which modern life is neither feasible nor acceptable. It is the bedrock upon which all commercial transactions of any size above the minutiae of the trivial personal purchase are founded, and without which they become impossible.

The United Nations isn't known for underestimating either its omniscience or its incredible management abilities to deliver whatever it deems necessary for the unfortunate peoples of the world - peoples that its sponsors seem to consider supernumerary - a gigantic overload on the capabilities of mother Earth to support them all.

So its latest proposals to set up an "Emergency Platform" for taking world control by the scruff whenever any "Complex Global Shock" is deemed incoming is only the logical and sensible action to take, and no doubt grateful national leaders all around the world will happily endorse this proposal (a) because it's the easy thing to do and (b) because they prefer to listen to the charlatans at the UN than to their own populations.

Iain Davis, writing for UK Column, reviews the reactions of the critics to this film, released so far in the US and not yet in the UK.

"The Sound of Freedom" was made pre-Covid (was there such a time?!) in cooperation with Operation Underground Railroad and isn't new - yet it has only recently been released for public viewing. That delay in itself makes for an interesting sub-plot - did nobody want to recoup their investment?

The film isn't about railroads, but about human trafficking - in particular, the trafficking and exploitation of children. So it's about shining some public light on something that the perpetrators would very much rather keep under wraps.

I suppose I naïvely thought that all the possible permutations and combinations of Covid possibilities had been explored by now, but it turns out I may be wrong.

Only logic, based on evidence and sound assumptions, will expose the truth eventually. Yes, we are finding that all assumptions, both explicit and implicit, must be identified and tested.

In this case, the assumptions about "lipid nano-particles" "mRNA" and the "spike protein".

Don't get too alarmed by this content - after all, if you are still upright, still functioning, and still curious,  this strongly suggests that your immune system is taking care of you, whatever the truth of the assertions herein presented.

Anybody that thinks they know they know their post-WW2 history may need to review this.

Matt, a Canadian historian, has made a study of this period that paints a very different picture to that to which most of us may be accustomed.

As so often, the secret services MI6, CIA, CSIS feature heavily...

Sadly this Canadian presentation is heavy on the overbearing background muzak, but Matt is extremely knowlegeable and always (in my view) worth listening to.
