Once again, the government appears to be acting under the delusion that good outcomes depend upon government laws and regulation and that issues of freedom are of little import in comparison.

The Schools Bill was announced in the Queen's Speech, is now wending its way through the House of Lords, and as might be expected these days is long on powers and registrations and authorities, all in the very best interests of the child, obviously.

The problem as ever is the always unspoken but ever underlying assumption that authorities (whether local or national) always know best and should be entrusted with the obligation to police those whose idea of "best" doesn't comply with their own.

Bill has laid it all out for us - all we need to do is just read his book to receive his wisdom - fortunately it has been published just at the right time to help us deal with the very serious threat of Monkeypox. Can this threat be countered before it becomes a pandemic?

Of course all the usual suspects are queuing up to tell us how he is totally wrong and his solutions have been disproven, most recently by the response to the Covid pandemic, but we should remember that this isn't just Gates speaking, he has a great wealth of authoritative people behind him (the WEF, the UN, the WHO, plus sundry similar bodies that characteristically don't make the headlines, such as the Trilateral Commission, the Club of Rome etc, plus many distinguished academics such as Professor Neil Ferguson, and the full weight of the pharmaceutical industry), so we should pay close attention.

I've reflected only recently on my student days, but now I find myself posting another article that evokes another memory from those times.

What is academia for? Does it fulfil the function?

Uni was always sold as a place to go between finishing school and starting a career, a place where the clever and inquisitive should go to question the established knowledge, to push their understanding beyond the current boundaries, and to have fun doing it.

Potentially difficult terrain though, especially when the answers to your questions on the established knowledge turn out to be inadequate. That would mean that a certain amount of established knowledge must be demolished before one's understanding could be pushed beyond the (revised!) boundaries, within an establishment notoriously averse

On the face of it monkeypox is an unlikely candidate for a pandemic - it spreads slowly, by contact with an infected person, is not normally fatal and can be mild enough to escape much notice.

Mahyar Tousi may not be the most polished of presenters but his grasp of logic and what some of us used to call "nouse" is normally sound.

Given the political expungement of such values throughout government and opposition in recent years, it has become necessary to look outside the House of Commons for any kind of acceptable leadership that isn't totally in thrall to all the latest modish nonsense (I won't list it all here because we are only too familiar with it by now).

Health Freedom Defense Fund has helpfully noted the actual changes to the IHR that are being pushed through at the WHO.

There is also a Declaration that you can sign if you feel so inclined.

Personally I object to petitioning Parliament lest I provide our servants in Parliament with confirmation of ideas that are already above their station, but a declaration is a different ball-game.

The WEF signed up the UN in partnership in June 2019 (just in time to help out with Covid?) so the United Nations (including the WHO) is now to all intents and purposes the political arm of the World Economic Forum.

There is a great deal of confusion about matters legal.

I am reasonably well educated and certainly I have trouble trying to unravel the legal niceties that seem to govern our courts, but I was unprepared for this one. Or should that be three?

This article was published in 2016.

It purports to describe the legal chicanery that set up the global control of all the earth by the elite, in the shape of the "Holy Father".

But as I understand it the mechanism is based upon a fraud - the omission of the relevant facts at particular stages of one's life. Under Common Law, fraud vitiates everything dependent upon that fraud.

If true, It cannot stand.

As the media (and many others) have been pulling out all the stops to "support the Ukraine", it has become pretty hard to find anyone who is prepared to take an even-handed viewpoint - you are either with them or against them - whoever "they" may be.

The problem I have with that is that being "with them" these days is automatically to be put into the "we must send them more arms" warmongering bucket, and being against them is to be put in the "supporter of evil Putin" bucket.

Apparently there isn't a "please stop the fighting and negotiate" bucket, and there now won't be until at least one side has been fought a standstill. Which side will that be?

Judging by the surrender at the steelworks (what steelworks requires a labyrinth of underground tunnels?), it doesn't seem likely it will be the Russians.

This is an interesting list which appears to "prove" certain truths by logical deduction.

I might cavil that it fails at the first hurdle by not initially defining its axioms (foundational tenets that are held to be self-evident) and proceeding from there by logical deduction.

Part of the problem arises from ambiguous or missing definitions of terms (for example: "dream"), part from unproven assertion (example: nbr 39), and mixed together these two facets certainly drive a coach and horses through the necessary rigour required of a proof.

I'm not sure that I could disagree with their deductions even if I might disagree with their reasoning, but that doesn't mean to say that I necessarily agree with them all either.

I am sure that those who codified these 144 tenets knew what they meant, but from my perspective it can only be regarded as a work-in-progress.

The truth has been in short supply in recent years, perhaps especially in the scientific journals, so it's with some surprise that I note the publication of this highly critical editorial by Russell L. Blaylock (retired neurosurgeon) in a prestigious journal, Surgery Neurology International.

It's a wide-ranging and thorough review of all the horrors that the "pandemic" was used to unleash on us.

This article from the AIER concerns the misuse of regulation to impose rules and laws made for a different purpose altogether to force corporations to comply with what amounts to little more than the personal preferences of the regulators (or others in positions of authority).

Nobody voted for this form of coercion, yet it seems to have become a favoured way to sidestep democratic accountability by others both within and without the USA.

For example, who can forget Mark Carney of the Bank of England forecasting that those companies that did not embrace the "climate change" narrative would be bankrupted?
